Dewey Lucero (founder/owner of Wild Groves) started down his olive oil path in 2005, harvesting his first olive grove to crush for olive oil with his dad and brother. Olives are not new to the Lucero family, they have been farming them for four generation in Northern California for table olives. So it’s safe to say that Dewey has olive oil running in his blood! At over a century old, The Lucero Family’s olive groves are some of the oldest in the country. In 2016, Dewey and his wife Katie, started Wild Groves, passionately running it with one goal in mind: be the best in America! The family's ancient olive trees, as well as the fox family living among them, were the inspiration behind the name of Wild Groves, as well as the logo. If you’d like to read more about the fox’s story, see below. Wild Groves produces...

Sunshine

Growing up in the south of France, my childhood was filled with olive orchards and lavender fields. The Mediterranean sunshine warmed my skin and life was simple. When we moved to California, I became enamored with the rural landscape of Templeton and had a vision to recreate some of my fondest memories. We soon bought a hillside property with dozens of mature olive trees. When we saw how many olives these trees produced, we were shocked. We couldn’t let the olives go to waste, so we decided to make some olive oil. Why not? Sounds like a fun hobby. Our first harvest was in 2018. Since then, we have acquired two additional properties, have a total of 14 acres of trees and our little hobby is now a business! Sunshine Olive Oil Company is a dream come true and a way to share my passion for health and happiness with my...

It started in 2013 with a plot of dry dirt. Now that land has transformed into an orchard with 500 olive trees. We’ve created a farm filled with fruit trees, a vegetable garden, chickens, ducks, birds... and it just keeps growing. We are proud to say we farm organically, even if that means losing some of our crop to "pests". We don't believe in the use of harmful chemicals, and try to keep our farm as close to mother nature as possible. We hope you can taste our values in our pure extra virgin olive oil!

We use it in place of any vegetable oils as a healthier and tastier alternative. We often use it in place of or with butter when cooking with a skillet. Of course, we use it on salads because of the superior taste and we also serve it with bread in place of butter due to the superior taste and health benefits. There are literally thousands of recipes that call for olive oil and many more where olive oil can be substituted for a less healthy and less tasty vegetable oil.

We began our olive oil business 14 years ago. Inspired by Matt’s Sicilian grandfather (who produced olive oil many years ago) we followed in his footsteps, planting our first olive trees 14 years ago and ultimately producing our own oil coming up on eight years under the Scarlata family name, before expanding to a brick-and-mortar shop in Tracy, CA. We proudly offered various Italian products, locally sourced gourmet food items, and kitchen decor as well. I also spent time each month hosting a cooking segment from the shop for local morning news show, Good Day Sacramento. We are well known for our award-winning Scarlata Farms extra virgin olive oils, flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegars. We previously have won Best of Class and Gold Medals in the Napa Valley Olive Oil Competition, awards in the CA State Fair and Mid State Fairs for our olive oils.

Children who grow up in Sonoma tend to run one of two ways – right toward the wine industry or away from it. David was the latter. His interest in farming began at UC Santa Cruz while pursuing an Environmental Studies degree with an emphasis in sustainable agriculture. After spending time growing organic produce and working for Enterprise Vineyards (Phil Coturri), David teamed up with Sonoma Mountain Winery (Dan Marioni) and began farming 5 acres of grapes in 2019. Los Paisanos Vineyard Management now farms 65 acres of grapes, 5 acres of olives, and harvests for approximately 15 different wineries. In 2022, he introduced Las Vivas as a way to showcase the potential of wine and olive oil produced from exceptional sites farmed with intention, mindfulness and in harmony with nature.

Olivaia is a small batch producer of estate extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) and a grower of the historic ‘California Ripe Olive’ in the Lindsay area, formerly known as the ‘olive capital of the world’. Olivaia started in 2012 with the purchase of a mature olive grove with many neglected trees over 100 years old, today known as Block X because of its unique heirloom cultivars. Using their golden history as our groundwork, we immediately began rehabilitating our trees, trees that would have otherwise headed towards mulch for more lucrative crops like citrus or almonds. Inspired by history, both trees and locale, we not only re-established ties with the table olive sector but in 2017 embarked on an oil mission to put 'history in a bottle'. After all, the orchard has been the home to many of California’s original olives. Whether it is our old friends, our trees, the...

In 2014, my husband and I purchased a 40-acre parcel nestled in the foothills of the Diablo Mountains in Central California. The Santa Ana Valley, or "Organic Valley" as the locals call it, hosts a myriad of organic farms and free-range cattle and poultry ranches. As 4th-generation farmers, we felt right at home, knowing our neighbors valued "slow food" as much as we did. On this property was a sad, neglected 10-acre olive grove overgrown with weeds and thistles. Never having been nurtured, the previous owners believed that it was not able to produce fruit. The challenge was on! We had faith in our olive grove and in our ability to farm. Careful pruning, planting a cover crop to add nutrients back into the soil, and irrigating really paid off - each year we have doubled our harvest, and we are proud to claim an...

The Olive Plantation was established by the Fenton family in 2010 in the heart of Wine Country Temecula. It began its growth from small, year old, trees to now roughly 1000 20ft. trees scouring the hillside above Pauba Valley. Because of the love and care provided to the trees from the founders, production started within 5 years after planting! Thousands of pounds of olives have been harvested each year since, creating ultra premium quality olive oil.

Olives are hand harvested and milled the day after harvest to extract the freshest and highest quality oil. philip-picking2In 2003 an experimental grove of 60 trees was planted to test several Tuscan olive varietals, natural soil amendments, and drip irrigation methods. We found the Arroyo Grande coastal climate, marine sandstone soils (with fossil scallop shells!), and southwest facing slopes of Carpenter Canyon, a perfect combination to grow vigorous Tuscan varietals. We found the ideal place to develop our vineyard. We named our farm "Al Pie del Cielo" or "At the foot of the Heavens," as it sits perched on a vast hilltop and is enveloped by the sky. Our attention was drawn toward preparation of the higher slopes of the property and the selection of appropriate root stock. Meanwhile, we allowed a successful olive oil producer to continue harvesting the small olive orchard as he had done with the prior owners. After harvests, we would receive compensation by way of a few gallons of extra virgin olive oil. It was delicious. We learned that the property had been planted with 50 acres of these less common Tuscan olive varietals: Frantoio, Coratina and Pendolino. Unfortunately, most of the olive trees were destroyed by frost several years ago, and we were left with 350 trees or three acres. Our affection for these survivors...

Organic Saveri Pure Virgin Olive Oil hails from a sustainable farm in St. Helena’s historic “Italian Valley.” It is produced using a robust blend of five Italian olive varietals: Leccino, Frantoio, Pendolino, Moraiolo, and Coratina. Italian immigrants farmed the land in the Napa Valley where our olive groves are located before the 1906 earthquake, bringing their rich culture and superb agricultural knowledge to the region. Founder Joseph Saveri, whose roots go back to the first generations of Italian winemakers in California, proudly continues the tradition to create a high-quality, delicious and healthful organic oil. Terry Carson (Owner) and Nancy Frishberg (Chief Bottle Washer) moved to the country after living south of Market Street in San Francisco for 3 years. Terry was definitely suffering “Nature Deficit Disorder,” living in a concrete building on concrete streets with a single tree in front of the building. The skylight in the main room of their loft-like living space didn’t replace the green and golden vistas of California’s Central Valley where he grew up and raised his kids. Terry had previously leased an olive grove in Merced, California, where he pruned the neglected orchard and successfully harvested olives for two seasons. He wanted to have his own orchards. Nancy had limited prior experience living in the country – think: a couple years in the mid-’70s in Amherst Massachusetts, with lots of local agriculture (asparagus and apples come to mind immediately), which she enjoyed consuming, but had no hand in growing....

We maintain a chemical-free farming process and personally supervise the harvest of our olives to minimize leaves, dirt and damage. The trees are hand harvested once per year in early November and cold pressed within 24 hours to ensure ultimate freshness. Coppetti Olive Oil tests at an oleic acidity rate of .31% or less, which refers to it as "extra virgin" (<1.0% acidity) quality. In general, the lower the acidity, the higher the quality of the olive oil. As our olive oil is processed unfiltered, it is not uncommon to find a small amount of sediment at the bottom of the bottle. We bottle to order and in small quantities to maintain maximum freshness. With each years harvest you'll discover unique qualities and distinctive flavors. We hope you enjoy the simplicity of a handcrafted product.

We started by planting 300 olive trees with our family and offered the experience to our children to connect them to this new life. Later, we launched a pastured raised poultry operation- a decision that would change our lives. At first, it was simply about feeding people, supporting my family, and being able to afford this farm. I believed deeply in the satisfaction of a hard day’s work. Over time, subjects that had been on the fringe of our belief system before have taken on everyday importance. We’ve immersed ourselves in issues of community land use, the true cost of feeding people, workers’ rights, and the humane treatment of animals.

Pete Swayne grew up in southern California but spent most of his summers and winter/spring vacations with his Uncle Gene and Aunt Jo on their citrus ranch in Lemon Cove (near Visalia), a rural central California town. He quickly learned to love the chores of the early morning hours on the farm, tending to the soil, fixing irrigation lines, tackling the pesky pests, staying up all night and lighting smudge pots on frosty nights, and of course, the long hours of harvest. After a career of working with the family business, Pete longed for those days on the ranch. He set out to find suitable property in northern California. Finally, in 2003, after a few years of searching, Pete found a 47 acre former Crane melon field in SW Santa Rosa as the future Swayne Family Ranch. Frantoio Grove

Jeff, 5th generation Californian farmer, got the idea to create a permanent open space with a long term agricultural use. After considering the options he explored the possibility of doing grapes. The land is fertile and rich, with plenty of sun, no shortage of water, and long, moderately hot summers - he was assured that a vineyard would be a success. So in 2005 he planted olives. The idea was to grow the finest olives and produce delicious, fresh, and minimally processed oil for people in the Bay Area to enjoy. After a few years of tending the field, taming the weeds, and scaring off rabbits the trees began to yield some fruit and Frantoio Grove was born.

We are a small producer of exquisite extra virgin olive oil which comes from our Italian varietal olive trees imported from Italy. Our groves are located in a remote corner of the Napa Valley in California. Grove 45 EVOO is a business partnership between my self and long time friend and olive grower, Bonnie Storm. Between us we have 45 years of farming experience in the Napa Valley. Our first release hit the market in February of 2010 (harvested Nov. 2009) and was completely sold out within 2 months. We anticipate a wonderful harvest this fall (2010) and release of the oil in February 2011.

Audrey and Gregg hatched the whole crazy olive farm idea during a bicycle-touring vacation in Tuscany. While eating at local restaurants, they discovered intensely flavorful and grassy olive oil, unlike anything they had tasted in the U.S., so why not produce their own high quality extra virgin olive oil back home in California? In 2004 they relocated from Los Angeles to the beautiful central coast town of Paso Robles and planted their first 835 Tuscan olive trees a year later. Audrey and Gregg designed and built the straw bale farm building while learning more about milling and processing olives into high quality oil. In 2010 Kiler Ridge Olive Farm began producing and selling estate grown, certified extra virgin olive oil.

We are now Eyrie Olive Oil; same beautiful location, same thriving Tuscan varieties of olive trees, and have already won gold and silver medals in COOC, California State, and Los Angeles International competitions. We are now officially certified organic. All of the olives are estate grown in our Sonoma County orchard 900 feet above the valley floor...our Eyrie above the fog :-) The olives are milled within 12 hours of harvest at Olivino mill in Hopland. The chemical analysis verifies that our oil is above and beyond the standards set by California for Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and the CCOF for organic products. Belle Farms

Belle Farms began in 1997, when Steve and Marguerite Remde decided to plant a vineyard on their property in Wastsonville. They decided that grapes and olives make the perfect pair, and what started as a small family vineyard soon progressed into the seven acres of olives, and six and a half acres of grapes. Producing outstanding extra virgin olive oil and wine grapes quickly became their passion. Today, Steve and Marguerite also offer consultation services to vineyards and orchards. Steve and Marguerite’s three children also play a big part in the ongoings of the farm, helping pick olives during harvest and assisting Marguerite at farmers markets. Together, the Remdes have made Belle Farms into a collaborative enterprise grounded in a love for family, agriculture, and the local land.

Paul and Kellye Manuel’s roots both go back to Cornwall England. The Cornish were excellent tin miners, and Paul’s great-grandfather brought this expertise to the Gold Country. On a visit to the family church in the village of Chacewater, a mason’s mark caught Paul’s eye. This is now their logo, to honor their pioneering roots. Paul worked in the family’s construction business on 80 acres outside of Nevada City. When a devastating fire in 1988 swept through the land, clearing it, he decided to see if he could grow grapes. In 1988 they put in their first 10 acres and earned a reputation for exceptional quality for their organically grown fruit. They expanded to 36 acres, selling fruit to big wineries such as Fetzer. In 2004 they tried a custom crush in Lake County and sold it as bulk wine. In 2008 they purchased a 10-acre olive farm and mill...

Hi, I'm Percy the handsome dude on the front label. I work as VP of fertilizing for BADASS OLIVE OIL. I was rescued, together with my brother Nigel, from a slaughter house on the southern border and trucked up to California courtesy of Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue. We now live in an agrarian paradise in The Santa Cruz Mountains on a boutique olive farm. Our trees are all of the rustic Italian variety, Frantoio, Leccino, harvested this December 2023, producing if I say so myself, an undeniably high quality olive oil. What's the secret you may ask? High Top Ranch

On a mountain ridge overlooking Northern California's Carmel Valley, High Top Ranch produces exquisite artisanal olive oil of the choicest order. Our 300 organically grown trees are mostly the coveted Spanish Arbequina, while varying seasonal yields of French (Tanche, Canyon, Saloneque, Aglandau, Grossane) and Italian (Leccino, Frantoio, Moraiolo, Pendolino, Maurino) varietals lend nuance to a unique annual blend that is ultimately determined by nature itself. The beautiful southwest-facing orchard basks in occasional fog-shrouded nights to bear premium fruit that is hand-harvested at the peak of ripeness in the fall by our loving family and friends. The olives are then immediately cold-pressed, resulting in an oil of unparalleled flavor. Whether straight from the bottle or as an ingredient in your favorite recipe, High Top Ranch 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil is sure to lend its distinctive pedigree to your equally unique dishes.

In the late 1800’s, the majestic Long Meadow Ranch property thrived with vineyards, apple orchards, olive groves, hay and a goat milk dairy until farming fell dormant during Prohibition. Over the following years, the property became swallowed by the encroaching forest until the Halls bought the property in 1989. The Hall family carefully breathed life back into the land, nurturing it back to its glory, and then some, by cutting back the abandoned olive trees and replanting the vineyards and apple orchards as you see them growing today. Home to the Mayacamas Estate, the rugged 650-acre landscape nestled in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains also gave way to a long, sweeping meadow, thus the name Long Meadow Ranch was born.

We are Josh and Nathan, two brothers born and raised in Michigan. Back in 2012 we were working regular jobs and decided to visit our parents, who had just retired and were living in Chico, CA. While visiting, we became aware that our family owned a 125-year-old olive orchard in the area but unfortunately no one was taking care of the trees. At one point there was even talk of bulldozing the olive orchard and to sell the land. We knew we had to keep these beautiful trees and olives. We couldn’t let that happen!

Theresa and Diana agreed without hesitation that their vision for the farm began with growing and pressing their own olives. 50 trees and a few gallons of oil quickly evolved into 225 trees and too much oil to simply share with family and friends. The olives became the very essence and soul of this land. They represent strength, beauty and peace. In 2017, fires ravaged Sonoma County and the land of Saca Sabella Farms. Firefighters drew a fire-line at the olive grove and fought through the night. The next morning, they told Theresa and Diana — “your olive trees saved you.” Many trees in the first row burned, yet they were able to save the rest and the structures as well. The olive trees are a living reminder that we all share the land together.

Bondolio’s Sicilian estate blend is an elegant and unique California extra virgin olive oil, milled onsite from Nocellara, Biancolilla, and Cerasuola olives. This flavor profile, while readily found in Southern Italy and Sicily, is quite rare among oils produced in California. Flamingo Estate

Flamingo Estate is my home and garden. But it’s more than that, too. It’s the story of a lush orchard and pleasure garden on a California hillside overlooking Los Angeles, and the many hands that have helped tend it. It’s a philosophy that champions slow ways and ancient practices. It’s a quest for intimacy — between plants and people, body and spirit, heaven and earth. With the help of our friends and a network of incredible farmers, we grow sage for soap and tomatoes for candles. We harvest salt from the cliffs of Big Sur and press olive oil from very old trees and keep bees for honey. In all of it, we’re invested in pleasure — for ourselves and our clients and friends — because we think it’s a path to radical change and cataclysmic beauty.

After all, Brightland is all about the little things: Heirloom olives, farm-fresh fruit, and beekeepers that go back generations. Because this is what makes a difference. This is what turns the mundane into the must-haves.

We aren’t ashamed to admit it. In the beginning we didn’t know the difference between fresh extra virgin olive oil or rancid oils often found in supermarkets or on chain restaurant tables. We didn’t know how best to grow an olive tree, how to press (or correctly termed, cold extract) olives to get the oil. We didn’t grow any vines and winemaking seemed as tedious as olive processing. We thought education ended at college graduation only to find out that we would soon spend another couple decades’ surrounding ourselves with very smart people in the olive oil and wine industries soaking up knowledge like a sponge. We found ourselves back in college accredited courses and in working internships. We listened to people smarter than us. What we did know was we wanted to transition from seasonal row crops and chasing markets and get into planting some permanent crops. We knew our...

Founded by Ed Stolman, a visionary who pioneered the region's first olive mill, The Olive Press has been shaped by a dedication to quality and sustainability. Ed's values set the foundation for everything we do today. In 2013, Ed entrusted the legacy he built to his dear friends, Nancy and Fred Cline, who became the proud stewards of The Olive Press. They embraced the responsibility of continuing Ed's journey, upholding the same principles The Olive Press was founded on. Nancy and Fred not only continue the stewardship of The Olive Press but also Ed's passion for excellence in olive oil. They took on the challenge with a deep respect for tradition, and a commitment to producing oils that not only meet but exceed the high standards set by Ed. Our commitment to quality, care, and sustainability is a testament to the values instilled by Ed Stolman and embraced by Nancy and...

As a family that originated in Lucca, Italy, we come from a long line of cooks (and people who, well, just love to eat). That’s why we believe our olive oil should be as transparent as we are: Nothing but goodness from grove to box. Because that’s what every chef, in every restaurant and home, deserves.

Since 1936, we’ve been cold pressing olive oil in California. That makes us by far the oldest producer in the US! My great-grandfather (Nicola) and my grandfather (Joseph) began with the artisan knowledge of olive oil production Nicola learned in Marsala, Sicily as a young man. This knowledge has now been passed on for four generations. Today we carry on our family tradition of making the highest quality 100% Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Olive Oil available anywhere.

In our native Patwin language, ‘Séka’ means ‘blue,’ and in selecting Séka Hills as the name for our line of premium tribal products, we honor the blue hills that overlook our homeland in Northern California’s Capay Valley. For thousands of years, our people have lived in the oak forests, rolling hills and grasslands of Northern California’s Capay Valley, tending the natural resources and the land that is home to our culture, history, and traditions. Our Tribe is known as the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, meaning “Home by the Spring Water.” As we strive to preserve our language and the legacy of our ancestors, we continue to grow as a people and tend this fertile valley that is home to our culture, history and tradition. The Tribe looks at decision-making through a lens of good environmental stewardship throughout all of our undertakings, honoring the legacy of our ancestors who lived as part of...

Donald has been my partner since 1976. First as a chamber music collaborator (he's a cellist, I'm a flutist), by being my best friend, and then my husband. He has many years of experience working in San Francisco Bay Area restaurants as a pastry chef and also working as both a cook, then chef for catering kitchens. He has worked for one of the nation's top food development companies, and was a cooking teacher for the Judith Ets-Hokin Cooking School during its heyday at the end of the 20th century. He does the cooking in our home, and is also the one upon whom I have relied to develop or vet the recipes that we've shared at Lucero Olive Oil since 2015. We're glad you found us, and appreciate you wanting to know more about the company. Please be in touch if you'd like to know more.

Almost 15 years ago, chasing up different flavors of Anatolia, especially the local olive cultivars, I traveled the Mediterranean Coast of Turkey inch by inch. I ran into the problem of having to travel long distances with the olive fruit in order to get it to a quality olive oil mill. Then, with the mobile production facility we designed to produce the highest quality olive oil from these hidden cultivars, we produced very exquisite olive oils and collected dozens of awards in the most prestigious competitions from all around the world such as New York, LA, Japan etc.

In the 20 years since we milled our first batch of olive oil, we’ve always set out to do one thing: make exceptional tasting extra virgin olive oil. That hasn’t gone unnoticed. Not only do we produce top rated olive oil, but our family of extra virgin olive oils has won hundreds of awards at competitions throughout the United States and the world. We think that’s brag worthy.

Zimms Organics

The Zimms Organics branding is focused around David’s health and wellness journey. He discovered with his previous brand that the primary customers were interested in the same natural healing benefits that he discovered to heal his body. He wanted to focus the new name and brand design around health and wellness, while having the ability in the future to grow into other healing modalities outside of olive oil as well. We used product design to clearly state what these products are, and what they are used for. We used natural earth tones and a matte paint to give a ceramic feel to the glass bottles. There is a considerable amount of confusion around what high quality olive oil looks like, so we clearly stated directly on the bottle how Zimms EVOO stands out. We visually represented simple and easy to understand graphic elements and illustrations to convey our standards of...

Beginning in Australia, Rob McGavin and Paul Riordan, two visionary farmers, embarked on a journey to create the world’s highest quality extra virgin olive oil. In 1998 they purchased a plot of land and planted Cobram Estate’s very first olive grove. Together the pair oversaw every stage of the olive’s transformation. For the next 20 years Cobram grew to become a market leader in the Australian olive industry and a global leader in sustainable olive farming. In 2014 Paul and Rob set their sights on growing the operation in the United States. Establishing a new facility in the Sacramento Valley, Cobram Estate quickly embraced the fertile soil and favorable Mediterranean climate of California landscape allowing us to bring our world class extra virgin olive oil to the US consumer. Continuing with a vertically integrated model, the USA headquarters includes nursery operations, an olive mill, bottling operations, olive oil storage and...

We’re a new-world food company driven by flavor. And to us, flavor is more than something you have. Flavor is something you do, bringing things together in unique ways to make things more interesting. To make things more vibrant. To make things better. It’s how we approach food and life. As chefs, we don’t believe in compromising flavor. Ever. That’s what sets us and our products apart. It’s why we cook in small batches using the absolute best ingredients. Fresh, real, local, delicious things. We can't make things taste great if we start with ingredients that don't taste great. And having Sonoma Valley as our backyard pantry goes a long way to making that happen. Making delicious food that people enjoy with friends and family is why we get up in the morning. Experimenting, refining, and creating is what keeps us going well into the night. We’re foodists with a passion for...

Our olive oil starts its life not in the bottle or after the olive pressing but at the root of our trees. Our family gives particular care to the entire extraction process from the tending of the orchard to the bottling of the oil, opting for quality rather than quantity. Our process of extraction is true to the origins and art of olive oil making and we will continue this millenary tradition for you to enjoy at the table.
